This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to the treatment of personally identifiable information submitted by, or otherwise obtained from you, in connection with the WhereU application (“WhereU” or “Application”). It tells you what information we collect and use, as we value your privacy as much as we do ours. As you use WhereU, which our Company,

WhereU, LLC. (“Company” or “We”) created, you consent to the following:

 

COLLECTION OF INFORMATION:

 

For Users:

When you contact your preferred business or merchant outside the WhereU application (SMS, phone call, e-mail and the like), it will be the only time you will share your contact information with the business owners/merchants. WhereU requires no sign-up or log-in upon installing the app at this time.

 

For Merchants:

You will be asked for your first name, last name, and email address for identification. All transactions you will have between the WhereU team will be done over the email address that you will send us. Your email address will be essential in verifying your identity, as you cannot proceed with the sign up if your email has not been confirmed from our end.

 

An email containing a verification code or link will be sent to your email address to verify the authenticity of the information you supplied to us in your application. You should click the verification link for you to be redirected back to the website to confirm your account and complete the user registration process. Important announcements will also be sent to you via email notification to keep you updated.

 

SHARING OF INFORMATION:

Since WhereU transactions are private, no information will be shared with any of the merchants that are listed with us, except when release is necessary to comply with the law; or enforce or apply our conditions of use and other agreements. Any dispute between you and the merchant you have interacted or transacted with rests under your discretion. We will, however, do our best to find out what happened if such a dispute arises and the application or the team is directly involved.

 

INFORMATION AND USER CONTENT DISTRIBUTION:

Messages and transactions between you and the business owners/merchants are NOT monitored by our team. We look for the best local businesses in your location/area but the discretion to transact with them solely rests upon you. Rest assured that we filter the merchants and double check their credentials, to the best of our abilities. The integrity of the team and the

Application lies with the trust that is given and received within the system of the team, the

Application, the merchants, and you.

 

AUTOMATIC COLLECTION OF INFORMATION:

We will treat some information on our server logs from your browser or mobile platform, including your location, IP address, cookie information, and the page you requested as non-personal information, except where we are required to do otherwise under applicable laws.

While we treat these data as non-personal information, we shall undertake to treat these with utmost confidentiality and shall not be made available to the public, except when required by law.

 

LOCATION DETECTION:

The WhereU app will attempt to detect your location through location services or use a recent last known location during the following:

            - When the app is displaying business information, to compute the distance from your location.

            -  When you opt for AUTOMATIC LOCATION DETECT while searching for businesses/ merchants or when changing your location.

            - When you sort search results according to NEAR ME. The WhereU app stores your last known location on your device.

 

MERCHANT TO USER COMMUNICATION AND VICE VERSA:

 

The WhereU app enables Merchants and Users to communicate directly via different contact features:

 

- SMS BUTTON FROM WhereU

From the business/merchant listing, the mobile numbers on the information pages are displayed on a button that automatically links the User to his/her device SMS application. Standard SMS Charges by the User’s Telecommunications Service Provider may apply when using this contact feature.

-CALL BUTTON FROM WhereU

From the business/merchant listing, the landline or mobile numbers on the information pages are displayed on a button that automatically links the User to his/her device phone call application. Standard Call Charges by the User’s Telecommunications Service

Provider may apply when using this contact feature.

- EMAIL BUTTON FROM

WhereU From the business/merchant listing, the email address on the information pages are displayed on a button that automatically links the User to his/her device’s email application. If the User has WiFi access, emails may be free of charge. Otherwise, Standard Data Charges by the User’s Telecommunications Service Provider may apply when using this contact feature.

 

PEER-TO-PEER REFERRAL FEATURES:

The WhereU app enables Users to refer merchants/businesses listed on the WhereU app to their personal contacts via the following features:

 

- SMS Referral

If the referral was made through SMS, the sender may incur Standard SMS Charges from the User’s Telecommunications Service Provider. Notifications about merchant/ business you have referred and who referred a new merchant/business to you through this method will be reflected on the SMS log of your mobile device.

-  Email Referral

If the referral was made through email while using a WiFi connection, the process may be free of charge. Otherwise, the sender may incur Standard Data Charges from the

User’s Telecommunications Service Provider. Notifications about the merchant business you have referred and who referred a new business/merchant to you through this method will be reflected on the log of your email.

- Social Media Referral

If the referral was made through third-party Social Media site such as Facebook and

Twitter while using a WiFi connection, the process may be free of charge. Otherwise, the sender may incur Standard Data Charges from the User’s Telecommunications Service

Provider. Notifications about the merchant/business you have referred and who referred a new merchant/business to you through this method will be reflected on your social media site.

 

CANCELLING MERCHANT ACCOUNT:

For merchants, should you wish to cancel your account with us, you can do so by logging-in to your dashboard at WhereU.com and clicking the “cancel your account” button or by emailing the

WhereU team at support@whereyoucamefrom.biz and completing the required cancellation process.

 

AFFILIATIONS:

Merchants who created accounts with WhereU are not directly affiliated with WhereU. The relationship between the owner/s and WhereU is solely of business nature and we do not associate ourselves with any of the businesses/merchants we will be signing up. Transactions between users and the merchants or their businesses will be private and confidential with the exclusion of the Company, as WhereU only serves as the repository of merchant details for the user to contact them for their needs. User concerns regarding spamming from merchants shall be dealt with only if the WhereU team is directly involved.

 

PRIVACY POLICY CHANGES:

The Privacy Policy can be changed without prior notice to both business owners/merchants and app users. The modified Privacy Policy shall become effective once posted on the WhereU app and/or website. By continuing to use the WhereU app, you have granted consent to the modified Privacy Policy.
